Ophthalmology is an important part of clinical subjects that studies the occurrence, development and outcome of diseases of the visual organs, as well as the prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Ophthalmology has long been an independent subject because of the complexity of the features and functions of the optic apparatus, the examination and diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases are very different from other clinical subjects. The course contents include: introduction, eye anatomy, physiology, eye examination, etiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of various eye diseases, as well as the relationship between eye and systemic diseases. The course is mainly through theoretical teaching, supplemented by clinical probationary courses, so that students can initially master the basic theoretical knowledge of ophthalmology, eye examination methods, the methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common and multiple diseases in ophthalmology, as well as the treatment of acute and severe diseases. Preliminary management of eye diseases and eye trauma, understanding the ocular manifestations of systemic diseases, and knowing which eye diseases should be promptly referred to an ophthalmologist for treatment.
