An introduction to laboratory diagnostics In recent years, with the rapid development of the basic theories and technologies of medical basic and marginal disciplines, there is a wide and close relationship between them and the clinical examination. The cross and penetration of each other is deepening, and the experimental means and contents are constantly enriched, forming a new independent science in modern medicine -- experimental diagnostics. Based on clinical laboratory science, experimental diagnostics applies the results or data provided by laboratory science to clinical diagnosis, curative effect observation and prognosis judgment by physicians combined with clinical history/family history, symptoms/signs, imaging data/pathological examination, etc. It can also provide experimental basis for scientific research, disease prevention, health census and genetic counseling, including clinical hematology examination, clinical biochemistry examination, clinical immunology examination, clinical etiology examination, body fluid and excreta examination, gene diagnosis and so on. Therefore, experimental diagnostics is a bridge course from basic medicine to clinical medicine. It plays an indispensable role in both clinical diagnostics and clinical medicine, and is also one of the required courses for medical education and medical students to learn. In order to adapt to the new textbooks, we reformulated the teaching syllabus, made new courseware matching it, updated the electronic teaching plan synchronously, and deleted and updated the exercises of each chapter. We focus on the reform of teaching content, teaching methods and teaching means, implement the course leader system, strengthen the quality management and control of teaching links, forming its own unique characteristics and advantages, after six years of course construction, the course has a set of perfect teaching management system. The principal and backbone teachers of the course have rich teaching and scientific research experience. The teaching members of the course have been teaching experimental diagnostics for a long time, which has made a lot of work for the construction of the course system and formed a distinct teaching style and characteristics.
