Unlike the research methods such as laboratory tests or animal models used in basic medicine and clinical medicine research, this course will provide students with a broad understanding of determinants of health at the individual, community, and societal levels, a comprehensive introduction to qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the aim to helping students to acquire a sound knowledge base of the research process and to develop an appreciation of the importance of research in health care. Students will have the opportunity to engage in activities involved in data collection, analysis, as well as appraising research evidence.
